The ‘Railway Children’ Expedition to Mount Kilimanjaro 2011 – The Story So Far:
Kilimanjaro Charity Trek
| Benchmark Training are delighted to announce that Josh Giddins will be joining the Kilimanjaro charity trek in October raising money for the Railway Children. The group of 26 climbers who completed the first Railway Children Charity Trek raised £180,000 last year.Railway Children exists to help vulnerable children in grave circumstances. Their aim is to provide relief to children and young people who are in conditions of need, hardship or distress and in particular to those living on the streets. For these children, the streets are often the only means of support available but also where they suffer abuse and exploitation.Since the charities inception in 1995, Railway Children has helped many thousands of children and young people living alone and at risk on the streets.“This is an amazing opportunity for us and for Josh to raise as much money as we possibly can for a really worthwhile cause over the coming months,” commented Jules Pepperday – Benchmark Training
At 5,895m, Mt. Kilimanjaro is one of the largest volcanoes ever to break through the Earth’s crust. The challenge is to reach its summit!
